This hand gesture is a symbol of peace and acceptance and open-minded logical understanding. It was first created by Leonard Nimoy, and his hand serves as the model for the drawing. Inspired by a Jewish blessing, this symbol is a wonderful reminder of the hopeful future that Star Trek imagined.
This hand-coloured print is one of a kind. I digitized the original drawing, then printed it on watercolour paper using pigment inks (that's the black lines you see), then I added the colour by hand.
